
Sixteenth Street Heights is a neighborhood in Northwest Washington DC. Named for 16th Street NW, the neighborhood is among the city's most diverse neighborhoods, with 16th Street being an affluent area and the 14th Street and Georgia Avenue corridors housing middle and lower-middle-class Hispanic and Black residents. The neighborhood developed as a series of subdivisions, and it was initially a white and Jewish neighborhood before becoming a mostly Black community during the 1960s.
