Sion H. Rogers

Sion Hart Rogers (30 September 1825-14 August 1874) was a member of the US House of Representatives (W-NC 4) from 4 March 1853 to 3 March 1855 (succeeding James Turner Morehead and preceding Lawrence O'Bryan Branch) and from NC-4 from 4 March 1871 to 3 March 1873 (succeeding John Manning Jr. and preceding William Alexander Smith).

Biography[]

Sion Hart Rogers was born in Raleigh, North Carolina in 1825, and he became a lawyer in 1848. He served in the US House of Representatives from 1853 to 1855 as a Whig. He served as a Confederate States Army lieutenant during the American Civil War, as Attorney General of North Carolina from 1863 to 1866, and in the US House of Representatives from 1871 to 1873, and he died in 1874.
