Sinaloa is a state in northwestern Mexico, with Culiacan Rosales serving as its capital. The state borders Sonora to the north, Chihuahua and Durango to the east, and Nayarit to the south, and it is located along the Pacific coast. Mazatlan and Los Mochis are two other major settlements in Sinaloa, which is home to the powerful Sinaloa Cartel of Joaquin Guzman Loera. In 2015, Sinaloa had a population of 2,966,321 people.
