Simeon of Makuria (680-730) was the king of Makuria from 710 to 730, succeeding Merkourios of Makuria and preceding Markos of Makuria.
Biography[]
Simeon was born in 680 to the Miaphysite Christian Nubian House of Azim, and he was the son of King Merkourios of Makuria. After the death of his father, Simeon inherited the throne of Makuria and reigned for 20 years. He died in 730, and his son Markos of Makuria succeeded him.
