Biography[]
Sim Jip was a general of the Choson Empire, leading an army of 8,000 troops during the Chinese War of Pyongyang Region. On 16 November 1839 he was defeated at the Battle of Pyongyang, losing 3,059 men in battle with the 12,264-strong Army of Forbidden Banners, which lost 3,160 men.
