
Silvio da Formia (1451-1519) was a condotierro of the Papal States during the Italian Wars.
Biography[]
Silvio da Formia was born in Formia in 1451 in the Kingdom of Naples, and he became a condotierro in the service of King Ferrante I of Naples. Silvio da Formia was made a general of Naples and fought in the Italian Wars, engaging France during the War of the League of Venice (1494-1495). In the Battle of Fivizzano in 1494, he was victorious, but much of the Neapolitan army was annihilated. Formia died in 1519.
