The Signal Hill railyard shootout occurred in the summer of 2017 when Slugs Piombino and Stanley Phillips engaged in a shootout with corrupt Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officers. The shootout occurred when the two criminals stumbled across the group of corrupt cops as they were "up to no good" in the Signal Hill railyard of northern Los Angeles, and they held off seven waves of policemen, including helicopters and heavily-armed cops. Almost a hundred corrupt policemen were killed in the shootout, and Piombino made $8,400 for his survival.
