Sigismondo d'Este (September 1480-9 August 1524) was the youngest son of Ercole I d'Este and Eleanor of Naples.

Sigismondo d'Este was born in September 1480, the youngest son of Ercole I d'Este and Eleanor of Naples. Sigismondo suffered from a disease that went to his brain, causing him to act like a small child. He was the head of the procession that went to Rome to take Lucrezia Borgia to her new husband, Alfonso d'Este, and he often accompanied his brother on his travels, living in the shadows. He was unable to lead a normal life, and he died in 1524.
