The Siege of Rabbah was fought in 1035 BC between the Israelites of King David and the Ammonites of King Hanun.

In 1035 BC, David's commander Joab fought against the Ammonite city of Rabbah, capturing the royal citadel. Joab then sent messengers to David and informed him that he had taken the city's water supply, while requesting reinfrocements for the city's capture; he warned David that, if David did not arrive, Joab would take the city and name it after himself. David mustered the entire army and went to Rabbah, attacking and capturing it and taking the crown from King Hanun's head, placing it on his own. David took a great quantity of plunder from the city and consigned its inhabitants to hard labor as brickmakers, doing so to all of the Ammonite towns before returning to Jerusalem.
