The Siege of Frechilla occurred in July 1200 when King Alfonso IX of Leon captured the castle of Frechilla from the Castilians during a war between Castile and Leon.

In the summer of 1200, shortly after the Kingdom of Leon and the Almohad Caliphate made peace, Leon and its Christian neighbor, Castile, went to war over their disputed border. After a series of pitched battles fought in the borderland, the Leonese nobleman Don Diego de Calasanz persuaded King Alfonso IX's to lead an army out of his capital and capture the Castilian castle of Frechilla, a major bastion of Castilian control over the disputed region. In the ensuing siege, Alfonso's army erected siege works and, in the absence of a Castilian relief force, he launched his assault on the city. The Leonese used a siege tower to assault the fortress, and, though Don Diego was wounded during the assault, the Leonese men-at-arms were able to overpower the garrison and capture it.
