
Sidney Lawrence (31 December 1801-9 May 1892) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-NY 15) from 4 March 1847 to 3 March 1849, succeeding Joseph Russell and preceding John R. Thurman. Born in Weybridge, Vermont, he was raised in Moira, New York and practiced law before serving in the state senate from 1843 to 1844, in the state assembly in 1846, and in Congress.
