Biography[]
Shuaib Abdullah was born in Hyderabad, Sindh, Pakistan on 19 July 1973, and he immigrated to England in 1995 and settled in Bromland, Lincolnshire, where he opened the Babur Restaurant. Abdullah became a generous donor to his Sunni mosque, as well as to the Liberal Democrats, and, in 2014, he was persuaded by the party to run for the Bromland Town Council. Abdullah's candidacy helped persuade many South Asian Labour voters to switch their votes to the Lib Dems on 27 April 2014, and Abdullah was elected to Labour councillor Esmee Francis' seat. However, on 6 December 2015, Abdullah was implicated in a corruption scandal, and he lost re-election to UKIP candidate Rupert Sutton on 12 June 2016.
