Shu Watanabe (11 December 1961-) was a Japanese DPJ politician who served in the Shizuoka Prefecture Assembly from 1991 to 1996 and in the House of Representatives 21 October 1996.

Shu Watanabe was born in Numazu, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan on 11 December 1961, and he joined the Yomiuri Shimbun paper in 1987. He served in the Prefectural Assembly from 1991 to 1996 and in the House of Representatives from 1996, and he was originally affiliated with the Democratic Socialist Party before defecting to the Democratic Party of Japan in 1996, Kibo no To in 2017, the DPFP in 2018, and the CDP from 2020. Watanabe was a nationalist, denying the occurrence of the Rape of Nanking.
