
Shirai Inaba (11 June 1904 – 29 May 1945) was a colonel of the Imperial Japanese Army during World War II.
Biography[]
Shirai Inaba was born on 11 June 1904 in Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan. He became a general of the Imperial Japanese Army during World War II and participated in the defense of Okinawa from the United States. While fighting in the courtyard in the center of Shuri Castle, he attempted to pick up and throw back an American grenade, but it detonated and blew his legs off, killing him.
