Shingas (1759-1790) was a war chief of the Cheyenne.
Biography[]
Shingas was born in the Cheyenne Territory of the Sioux Plains Nations to the Cheyenne tribe, and in 1789 became a war chief at the age of 30. He was put in command of a large Sioux army that would invade Mexico, but in 1790 he died under suspicious circumstances, with no doubt that the Cheyenne's enemies had blood on their hands.
