Shin Bet is the internal security service of Israel, equivalent to MI5 or the FBI. Shin Bet's name is an abbreviation of its official name, the Israel Security Agency, and along with Mossad and Aman, it is one of the three major intelligence agencies in Israel. Founded on 8 February 1949, Shin Bet answers directly to the Prime Minister of Israel, and it is involved in tracking down terrorist leaders.
