Biography[]
Shigeru Takechi was born in Tokyo, Japan in 1937, and he became a member of the Sanko-gumi yakuza family and rose to be Patriarch Shinzuke Onodera's right-hand man as his Captain. In 1963, he attempted to thwart Nomoto Enterprises associate Joji Mizuno's reclamation of a real estate business which the Sanko-gumi had taken from Nomoto Enterprises, only for Goro Minami to hold him at gunpoint as Mizuno beat down the other Sanko-gumi men and extorted the business owner. Takechi later attempted to kidnap Mizuno from a parking garage in order to meet his boss, only for Mizuno to turn a shotgun against Takechi and force him to take him to his boss on his own terms. Mizuno was able to persuade Onodera to pay him to spy on Nomoto Enterprises, although he was incensed when he discovered that Takechi had overheard the arrangement. Mizuno went on to work with Takechi to steal ¥10 million of drug money from Nomoto Enterprises, but, when Nomoto Enterprises grew suspicious that the Sanko-gumi had carried out the robbery in retribution for the earlier racket dispute, Tetsuo Nomoto sent Mizuno, Minami, and Ken Ishizaki to head to Takechi's apartment, hold his wife hostage, and ambush Takechi when he entered his apartment. Takechi caught wind of Nomoto's plans and entered the apartment guns blazing, killing Ishizaki before Minami accidentally killed Takechi's wife, with whom he had become infatuated. He then engaged in a brief standoff with Takechi which ended in both of them shooting each other, Takechi fatally wounding Minami and Minami instantly killing Takechi with his shotgun.
