
Sherrard Clemens (28 April 1820-30 June 1881) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-VA 15) from 6 December 1852 to 4 March 1853 (succeeding George W. Thompson) and from VA-10 from 4 March 1857 to 3 March 1861 (succeeding Zedekiah Kidwell and preceding William G. Brown Sr.). Born in Wheeling, he resigned from West Point and instead became a lawyer. He served in Congress before opposing secession during the American Civil War and becoming a Republican. He later moved to St. Louis, where he practiced law until his death in 1881.
