Sheikh Tamim al-Adnani

Sheikh Tamim al-Adnani was a Palestinian jihadist who served as the executive director of the Afghan Services Bureau from 1988 to 1989. He fought alongside Osama bin Laden during the Soviet-Afghan War, and he was known to be the most aggressive of the "Afghan Arab" Mujahideen commanders, repeatedly pressuring Bin Laden to attack the Soviet base at Jaji before fighting in the decisive Battle of Jaji. During the battle, he reportedly walked around with a Quran in his hand, praying for martyrdom.
