Sheikh Anushirvan of Esfahan

Sheikh Anushirvan of Esfahan (732-) was the sheikh of Esfahan under the Abbasid Caliphate.

Biography[]

Anushirvan was born in 732 to the House of Rawandi, a dynasty of Mazdaki Persians. He became the ruler of Esfahan in present-day Persia, and he was a leader of the Mazdaki heresy. Caliph al-Mansur later forced him to convert to Sunni Islam.
