Shawn Brown

Shawn Brown (1919 - 13 June 1944) was a US Army tank commander during World War II. In June 1944, he commanded an M26 Pershing during the invasion of Normandy in northern France, and his tank was damaged in a Wehrmacht ambush shortly before the start of the Battle of Bocage. He was rescued by American paratroopers, but he was killed by incoming German troops and tanks as an engineer repaired the tank to use against the German armored assault.
