Sharon Salaam was the mother of Yusef Salaam, one of the defendants in the 1989-1990 Central Park jogger case. She was convinced of the NYPD's coercion of her son and the other defendants, and she threatened prosecutor Linda Fairstein with going to the news with a story about the police's refusal to let her see her son, although she was ultimately allowed to visit him. She was later filmed on the news reacting with horror to a reporter's statement that Donald Trump wanted to have her son executed.
