Sharice Davids (born 22 May 1980) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-KS 3) from 3 January 2019, succeeding Kevin Yoder.
Biography[]
Sharice Davids was born in Kansas to a Winnebago family, and she was raised by her mother, a US Army veteran. She was an MMA fighter before becoming a lawyer, and she was elected to the US House of Representatives in 2018 as a Democrat, becoming one of the first Native American women and the first gay Native American and Kansan to serve in the US Congress.
