Shane E. Patton (15 November 1982-28 June 2005) was a US Navy SEALs SO2 who was killed during the Afghanistan War.
Biography[]
Shane E. Patton was born in San Diego, California in 1982, and he enlisted in the US Navy on 10 January 2001. In April 2005, he was deployed to Afghanistan after being trained as a US Navy SEALs frogman, and he was hazed by his brothers-in-arms before being accepted as one of them. On the night of 28 June 2005, Patton was a member of Erik S. Kristensen's rescue team which had been sent to extract the SEALs who had been ambushed during Operation Red Wings, but Patton and all of the other soldiers on the Chinook helicopter were killed when the Taliban destroyed it with an RPG.
