Seth Wakeman

Seth Wakeman (15 January 1811 – 4 January 1880) was a member of the US House of Representatives (R-NY 29) from 4 March 1871 to 3 March 1873, succeeding John Fisher and preceding Freeman Clarke.

Biography[]

Seth Wakeman was born in Franklin, Vermont in 1811, and he was raised in Pembroke, New York. He served as a constable and justice of the peace before becoming a lawyer in Batavia, Genesee County Treasurer, and county district attorney from 1850 to 1856 as a Whig. He also served in the State Assembly from 1856 to 1857 and in the US House of Representatives from 1871 to 1873, and he died in 1880.
