Seth Hastings

Seth Hastings (8 April 1762-19 November 1831) was a member of the US House of Representatives (F-MA 4) from 24 August 1801 to 4 March 1803 (succeeding Levi Lincoln Sr. and preceding Joseph Bradley Varnum) and from MA-10 from 4 March 1803 to 3 March 1807 (succeeding Nathan Read and preceding Jabez Upham).

Biography[]

Seth Hastings was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1762, and he became a lawyer in 1786 and served as town treasurer of Mendon from 1794 to 1795 and in the US House of Representatives from 1801 to 1807; he went on to serve in the State Senate in 1810 and 1814 and as Chief Justice of the Worcester County Court of Sessions from 1819 to 1828. He died in 1831.
