Serhiy Arbuzov

Serhiy Hennadiyovych Arbuzov (24 March 1976-) was a Ukrainian businessman, pro-Russian politician, and acting Prime Minister of Ukraine from 28 January to 22 February 2014 (succeeding Mykola Azarov and preceding Oleksandr Turchynov).

Biography[]

Serhiy Hennadiyovych Arbuzov was born in Donetsk, Ukrainian SSR, Soviet Union in 1976, and he became an economist and banker, serving as a director of the Ukrainian Business Bank from 2003 to 2010. He became a member of Our Ukraine in 2005, and he served as Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine from 2010 to 2012 and First Vice Prime Minister from 2012 to 2014, acting as Prime Minister from 28 January to 22 February 2014 during the Euromaidan revolution. Arbuzov went into exile in Russia following the pro-Western revolution, and, on 23 January 2022, the United Kingdom stated that Russian intelligence was considering establishing a pro-Russian government in Kiev possibly headed by Arbuzov or another former Party of Regions official.
