
Sergey Yuryevich Kuzovlev (7 January 1967-) was a Colonel General of the Russian Army and commander of the Southern Military District during the Russo-Ukrainian War.
Biography[]
Sergey Yuryevich Kuzovlev was born in Michurinsk, Tambov Oblast, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union in 1967. He joined the Soviet Army in 1985 and continued his service with the Russian Army, fighting in Chechnya and becoming a colonel in 2005. In 2015, he assumed command of the Russian forces fighting for the Luhansk People's Republic in the Donbas War, and he commanded the 20th Guards Combined Arms Army from 2015 to 2016, the 58th Combined Arms Army from 2016 to 2017, the 8th Guards Combined Arms Army from 2017 to 2019, Chief of Staff of the Southern Military District from 2019 to 2021, acting commander of the Southern Military District from 2021 to 2022, commander of the Western Military District from 2022 to 2023, and commander of the Southern Military District from 2023.
