Serafina Trapani was the wife of Johnny Trapani and the mother of Aldo Trapani.
Biography[]
Serafina Trapani was born in New York City, New York to a family of Sicilian descent, and she married Corleone crime family associate (later soldier) Johnny Trapani in 1918. Six years later, they had a son, Aldo, and they settled in the large Little Italy neighborhood of Lower Manhattan. In 1936, Serafina witnessed the bombing of the family bakery and the ensuing death of her husband at the hands of the Barzini crime family, and Don Vito Corleone saw to it that she was looked after. At Connie Corleone's wedding reception in August 1945, Trapani asked Corleone to help her son escape from the bad crowd he was currently involved with, and Corleone sent Luca Brasi to deal with the matter. Ultimately, Serafina would outlive her son, who was killed by a sniper while attempting to escape from Havana, Cuba on 1 January 1959 during the Cuban Revolution, and Don Michael Corleone made special care that provisions were made for her.
