The Septimian dynasty was a family that ruled over the Eastern Roman Empire from 429 AD to 463 AD. Starting and ending with Emperor Marcellus the Liar, the Septimian dynasty did not go on due to the lack of a male heir, and Orestes Stilicho became the new emperor upon Marcellus' death.

The House of Septimii was an esteemed Roman family, and one of their scions, Marcellus Septimius, married Flavian dynasty princess Leontia in 414 AD. Marcellus became the faction heir of the Eastern Roman Empire and he became Emperor in 429 AD, founding a new dynasty.
Under his rule, the Roman Empire was Christianized, with Papal Primacy and the Council of Chalcedon being achieved under his rule. Also, he fought against the Alemanni and Sarmatians, who invaded his empire from two sides.
