Selcan Hatun was a Turkish Kayi noblewoman, wife of Gundogdu Bey and mother of Süleyman Alp and İltekin Bey.
Biography[]
Selcan Hatun was born to the Turkic Kayi tribe of Central Asia, the daughter of the executed nobleman Alptekin Bey, and the sister of Gokce Hatun. She and her sister were adopted by the Kayi chief Suleyman Shah and his wife Hayme Ana, and she later married Suleyman's son Gundogdu Bey, while her sister had an unrequited love for Gundogdu's brother Ertugrul. Selcan was initially a negative influence on her husband, coaxing him into splitting from Ertugrul's faction of the tribe as it migrated westward and into Anatolia. Selcan later repents for her actions and becomes a good and powerful Muslim kayi hatun. She is forgiven by her family and develops a strong bond with Halime Sultan. Selcan Hatun is a mother-like figure in Osman bey's life. Selcan Hatun ,without a doubt, has the greatest redemption story in the series.
She has a instinct of sensing evil intentions and her character developed even further when she stood up against the treacherous Aytolun Hatun. Her husband thought she was still evil, but seeing the truth, she found a way to show him the truth too and defeat her husband's devious lover, Goncagül. She returns as a supporting character in season five and is returns in the sequel.

Selcan friendship with Halime Sultan in diriliş: ertuğrul[]
Selcan had disliked Halime immensely when she had first arrived at the Kayi Tribe because she knew Ertugrul and Halime liked one another, and Selcan wanted her younger sister ,Gokce Hatun, to marry Ertugrul. However, at the end of Season 1, she repents and befriends Halime.
Halime and Selcan were as close as sisters in Season 2, and Halime always supported Selcan in her investigations against Aytolun and Gongacal. Selcan even saved Halime's life when Aytolun was trying to kill her. Both of them were crying when they parted in migration.
Selcan was always loyal to Halime and told Ilbilge Hatun (Ertugrul's second wife) that Ertugrul didn't love, her which was true. She never gave anybody the same place in her heart which she had given to Halime. Selcan also comforted Osman when he longed for a mother and offered to be a mother to him.
