
The Continental Congress gathering to sign the US Declaration of Independence on 2 July 1776
The Second Continental Congress was a convention of delegates from the Thirteen Colonies that met in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from 10 May 1775 to 1 March 1781 during the American Revolution. The congress managed the war effort of the United States/patriots, and it was the de facto government of America. The congress signed the US Declaration of Independence on 2 July 1776 and ratified it two days later, and the congress had around 60 members during its existence.
