The Second Ambergris Cay Expedition was a pirating expedition launched by the pirate captain Edward Kenway and the crew of the Jackdaw off the coast of Belize in 1722. Kenway attacked a large flotilla of Spanish Navy vessels patrolling the coast, taking on around 10 ships by himself. The Jackdaw attacked individual Spanish ships in order to immobilize them, enabling Kenway and his crew to board them, take out their crews, salvage the enemy ships' timber to repair the Jackdaw, and scuttle the useless, abandoned Spanish ships. Kenway succeeded in looting and sinking five Spanish ships before the arrival of Spanish men-of-war and frigates forced him to flee, as his ship was badly damaged several times. Once again, he had proved a potent nuisance to Spain's overstretched navy in the Spanish Main.
