Sebastian Uriza (1861-) was President of Nicaragua from 11 to 14 November 1926, succeeding Emiliano Chamorro and preceding Adolfo Diaz. He was a member of the Conservative Party of Nicaragua.

Biography[]

Sebastian Uriza was born in Bluefields, Nicaragua in 1861, and he was active in the local branch of the Conservative Party of Nicaragua before being elected a Senator in 1913. In July 1917, he took part in a rebellion against Jose Santos Zelaya, and the uprising would be assisted by the United States. In 1926, he was made the interim President of Nicaragua following Emiliano Chamorro's coup, and he served until Adolfo Diaz became president three days later.
