Sea of Galilee

The Sea of Galilee, also known as Lake Tiberias, is a freshwater lake in Israel. It has an area of 64.4 square miles, and its main source is the Jordan River. During the 1st century AD, Jesus performed many of his miracles near the sea, including walking on water, calming a storm, miraculously catching fish, and feeding five thousand people. Since the Six-Day War of 1967, Israel is fully in control of the northern and western shores of the Sea of Galilee.
