The Scottish Labour Party, better known as Scottish Labour, is the affiliate of the Labour Party in Scotland, founded in 1900. The party's views were in line with the national party's views on social democracy and democratic socialism, and it also supported British unionism, opposing Scottish independence; this factor set Scottish Labor apart from the Scottish National Party, the predominant leftist party in the country. The Scottish Labor Party won the largest share of the vote in Parliament elections from 1964 to 2015, when the SNP won the election in a landslide. Scottish Labor allied with the Scottish Liberal Democrats in many elections, hoping to regain power, but it was reduced to the third-largest party in 2017, after the SNP and the Scottish Conservatives.
