Biography[]
Scott Taylor was born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1979 and raised by a single mother in Hebron. After high school, he enlisted in the US Navy, serving in the US Navy SEALs from 1997 to 2005 and fighting in the Iraq War. After the war, he worked in security consulting, as a real estate broker, and as a public speaker. He served in the Virginia House of Delegates from 2014 to 2017, when he was elected to the US House of Representatives as a Republican Party member. Taylor was defeated for re-election in 2018 by Democrat Elaine Luria. He ran for his old seat in 2020 in what was anticipated to be a tossup or Democrat-leaning election.
