
Scott Lord (11 December 1820-10 September 1885) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-NY 23) from 4 March 1875 to 3 March 1877, succeeding William E. Lansing and preceding William J. Bacon.
Biography[]
Scott Lord was born in Nelson, New York in 1820, and he became a lawyer in Mount Morris in 1842 before moving to Geneseo in 1847. He served as judge of Livingston County from 1847 to 1856, moved to Utica in 1872 to practice law, served in the US House of Representatives from 1875 to 1877, and practiced law in New York City until his death in Morris Plains, Morris County, New Jersey in 1885.
