The Saskatchewan New Democratic Party (NDP), formerly known as the Farmer-Labour Group and the Saskatchewan CCF, is a social democratic political party in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan. The Saskatchewan branch of the Co-operative Commonwealth Federation and New Democratic Party dominated provincial politics from 1944 to 1964, 1971 to 1982, and 1991 to 2007, acquiring a reputation as the province's natural governing party. The CCF created a wide range of crown corporations, normalized government intervention in the economy, and pioneered the establishment of a welfare state. However, its cuts to rural benefits amid a fiscal crisis in the 1990s led to the rise of the conservative Saskatchewan Party, which displaced the NDP from power in 2007, causing its decline into the 2020s.
