Saskatchewan is a province of Canada, with Regina serving as its capital. The province borders Alberta to the west, the Northwest Territories to the north, Manitoba to the east, Nunavut to the northeast, and the US states of Montana and North Dakota to the south. Most residents live in the southern half of the province, which consists of prairies, while the north consists of boreal forest and is sparsely populated. Saskatoon is the largest city in the province. In 2017, Saskatchewan had a population of 1,158,339 people.
