The Saronic Gulf is a gulf formed between the peninsulas of Attica and Argolis in Greece. It includes the islands of Aegina, Salamis, and Poros, and Athens' port of Piraeus is located in the gulf. The gulf is named for the mythological king Saron, who was said to have drowned at the Psifta lake.
