The Sarapeion of Karanis was a Greco-Egyptian temple dedicated to Serapis, located in Karanis, Egypt. It was originally an Egyptian temple before being built over by the Greeks, causing resentment among the local Egyptian population. In 48 BC, a cult dedicated to Wadjet desecrated the temple and attempted to murder the High Priest Theopropides, but the medjay Bayek and the phylakitai Epigonos foiled their plot.
