Sarah Osborne (1643-10 May 1692) was an accused witch during the Salem Witch Trials. She was among those who confessed to being a witch, and she escaped death.
Biography[]
Sarah Warren was born in 1643, and she married Robert Prince, who was a brother-in-law of the Putnam family of Salem in the Massachusetts Bay Colony. In 1662, Warren and Prince moved to Salem, and Prince died in 1674; Osborne became a deranged and drunken beggar who was considered an outcast. In 1692, Osborne and Sarah Good were both accused of being witches by the girls of Salem during the Salem Witch Trials, some of the first women to be tried. On 1 March 1692, she was arrested, and on 10 May she died in jail at the age of 49.
