Sarah Jane Childers (1872-) was an African-American cowgirl of the Wild West. In 1898, she was stranded in the wilderness after her previously-loyal horse bucked her off of the saddle and ran off, and the "Arizona Kid" decided to give her a ride back to Valentine, Nebraska, where she gave him a small reward as a token of her gratitude.
