The Santa Rosa de Lima Cartel (CSRL) is a Mexican drug cartel based in Santa Rosa de Lima, Guanajuato, founded in 2014 by Jose Antonio Yepez Ortiz. The cartel earned most of its income from oil theft, and it expanded into Queretaro and Michoacan and into cities such as Celaya, Irapuato, and Salamanca. Starting in 2019, the CSRL engaged in a bloody turf war with the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, and, by June 2020, government crackdowns and the war with the CJNG led to the CSRL losing a significant amount of land in Queretaro, Hidalgo, and even its native Guanajuato.
