Sandrinella "Sandra" Corleone (born 1917) was the wife of Sonny Corleone.
Biography[]
Sandrinella Colombo was born in Messina, Sicily in 1917, but her Bronx-born mother raised her speaking flawless English. Her parents and much of her family were killed during an earthquake, and she was raised by her grandmother Anita. At the age of sixteen, she moved to New York City, New York with her grandmother, and she used to visit Lipari during the summers, while learning English at school in America. She was raised in the same part of the Bronx as Vito Corleone's family, and she met Sonny Corleone at a neighborhood dinner in 1932. The beautiful and kind Sandra attracted the womanizing Sonny, who married her in 1935. She bore Sonny four children, and she tolerated Sonny's womanizing due to her own fear of Sonny's large endowment. After Sonny was murdered in 1948 during the Five Families War, Vito took care of her, and Sandra moved to Hollywood, Florida with her family. She would later attend the funerals of Vito Corleone in 1955 and Carmela Corleone in 1959.
