The San Mateo Base raid occurred in 2019 when American special forces captured the Santa Blanca Cartel buchon El Pozolero in a raid on the San Mateo Base.
The Americans learned of El Pozolero's location after interrogating Odon Noriega, the driver of the cartel's "death truck," which carried the bodies of murdered innocents to El Pozolero for dissolution in lye. Major Anthony Perryman and his Ghost Recon squad stealthily infiltrated the base, taking out its perimeter guards and snipers and rescuing several imprisoned communist guerrillas before heading into El Pozolero's laboratory. There, they were horrified at the sight of scattered limbs, dissolving bodies, and corpses hung upside-down in preparation for dismemberment. Perryman apprehended El Pozolero after taking out his guards, and the Americans quickly exfiltrated after dealing with the few sicarios in their way. El Pozolero was extracted to the nearest Kataris 26 safehouse, where CIA agent Karen Bowman forced El Pozolero to recall the names of every notable person he had "disappeared" for the cartel.
