San Francisco Triads

The San Francisco Triads are a Chinese-American triad organization based in San Francisco, California in the United States. The triads moved from Hong Kong to the USA, and the triad would be decentralized into three sets: the Blood Feather Triad, the Red Gecko Tong, and the Mountain Cloud Boys. In 1992, the Triads entered into gang warfare with the Vietnamese Da Nang Boys gang, which sought to muscle in on its base in Chinatown, San Francisco during its move to the USA. The Da Nang Boys succeeded in wiping out the Blood Feathers, but the Mountain Cloud Boys would create a diversion so that Red Gecko Tong boss Ran Fa Li could escape from the city, and the Triads later killed the Da Nang Boys leader Thanh Hu Viet and several of his underlings on a container ship in the San Francisco Bay. Soon, the Mountain Cloud Boys expanded the Triads' operations to Las Vegas, Nevada, where they opened the Four Dragons Casino. The Triads became rivals with the American Mafia, fighting against the Leone crime family, Forelli crime family, and Sindacco crime family over the casino business. The Triads would establish themselves as a very powerful gang in both California and Nevada, rivalling the Mafia in terms of strength.
