
Samuel Newell Bell (25 March 1829-8 February 1889) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-NH 2) from 4 March 1871 to 3 March 1873, succeeding Aaron Fletcher Stevens and preceding Austin F. Pike.
Biography[]
Samuel Newell Bell was born in Chester, New Hampshire in 1829, the grandson of Governor Samuel Bell and the nephew of US Senator James Bell, and he practiced law in Meredith before serving in the US House of Representatives from 1871 to 1873. He went on to serve as president of an insurance company and a railroad company until his death in 1889.
