
Samuel McRoberts (12 April 1799 – 27 March 1843) was a US Senator from Illinois (D) from 4 March 1841 to 27 March 1843, succeeding John McCracken Robinson and preceding James Semple.
Biography[]
Samuel McRoberts was born in Maeystown, Illinois in 1799, and he became a lawyer in Monroe County in 1821. He served in the state judiciary and legislature before being elected to the US Senate in 1840, and he died in office in 1843.
